It’s important to try new things, right? So they say anyway. Well, it turns out there’s good reason that they do.
Way back in November I had an idea to sketch a typograph for my friend’s 21st birthday. It would be composed solely of J. R. R. Tolkien quotes which suited the recipient to a ‘T’ giving me complete creative freedom and an opportunity to test out a bunch of the art materials I put through for customers in work every day. I hadn’t done anything like it before but months of mindless perusing online had enabled me to form a clear idea of what I wanted it to look like.
In the end, I was reasonably happy with the outcome and the whole process was pretty enjoyable too (e.g. buying new materials with a purpose = less guilt) so much so that, well, now we’re here…
