Who am I?

Neither I’m afraid. Behold: I’m Rachael. An English, Creative Writing and Journalism graduate, barista and former editor living in Scotland who needed somewhere to keep everything together. You’ll find me pottering about a certain coffee shop every other minute of the day.

I don’t intend to start a referendum, talk about myself for any great length of time, or single-handedly bring about world peace overnight. I would, however, like to continue to write and share this writing with you. And, in addition, some of my other great endeavours like the time I tried to travel Europe and almost died. Great memories. Top notch.

I previously built an online portfolio before I began rebuilding this site under a new domain (rachaelrites.com). This portfolio is still viewable through rachaelrites.wordpress.com  but to say it’s a little dated, would be an understatement. Alas, three years worth of journalism experience was never going to be hot-off-the-press forever although many of the acts I wrote about during my time working as a Theatre/Music Critic at TSA are still actively touring. Most importantly, although not a true reflection of where I’m at now, my old website still fulfils its intended purpose: showing future employers my writing style.

Expect to see vinyls, polaroids, movie soundtracks, creative writing and even a little bit of travel journaling should you find yourself stopping by here at any given time.

If you have any suggestions for me – be those literature, music, exhibition or live performance based – I’d be delighted to hear from / fangirl with you. Hit me up at: rachaelrites [at] hotmail [dot] com.
